Staying safe is not just for your own benefit

Smaller injuries, such as cuts and bruises, mainly affect your own well-being. You take the risk, you live with the effects. However, anything more serious than that, and you start to affect those around you. If you break a limb, you will be dependent on those close to you for a limited time. Anything more serious, and those around you will be affected more severely.

So when you work with potentially dangerous equipment, climb up a ladder, go fishing without a life jacket or consider driving after drinking, stop and have a think. Consider the consequences of a serious accident, not only for yourself but for those around you. They don't want to be looking after you for a long period of time, and neither do you want to be dependent on them because of your foolish decision to take an unnecessary risk. You don't want to impact their lives in that way!

Please make the right decisions for everybody's sake.
