Modern tools allow you to extract this information, and look at the results from different perspectives. And while you may not need to look at this information on a regular basis, it is a bit like the dashboard in your car. When things are ticking over you don't need to analyse it, but when something out of the ordinary happens you will want to investigate and drill down to the problem.
